For those of you who aren't British but nevertheless criticise the country you've chosen to call home, this question doesn't apply to you, but if you're unhappy with your move there's a short answer to that. Do the other thing!
To those ex-pats who've already made their choice, stay away, and I wish you bon chance. You're going to need it!

The tone of responses appears to be offering only one position as acceptable - you need to be 'proud' of Britain, and if you are not 'proud' then you really don't deserve to live here.
I find that far to simplistic, not to say jingoistic as an attitude - I don't feel 'proud' of this country, which is not at all to suggest that I hold it in contempt, or don't support its values.
Over-simplification is never a good position from which to start a debate.

ich - // This thread, and the one following, feels like someone trying to start an argument for no good reason.

The concept of a threat is a matter of perception - since clearly no harm can come to you via an internet forum, if you are uncomfortable, the simplest solution is to absent yourself, wouldn't you agree?
