Isn't it a fantastic achievement for Boris' Vaccine Taskforce, now having vaccinated more UK residents that the entire 27 countries of the EU combined have done for theirs?
Lots of men & women deserve accolades, but at the top should go Sir Patrick Vallance, "who from early on was hammering the point about onshore manufacturing" & the largely unsung 'Vaccine Tsar', Kate Bingham.
Three cheers for Britain at its best!

No problem at my GP's, just had my jab at home from a practice nurse.
Any side effects, danny? I have a bad feeling about my impending jab, as it will probably be the Oxford one, and there have been many on AB who were poorly afterwards.
Had the jab 2 hours ago and,so far, can't feel a thing.
PS, mine was the Oxford one.
It would have ben difficult for even Boris to Fekk this up given we're the world leaders in vaccine development, but, yes, well done The Brits!!!
Thanks, danny - hope you don't have any problems. I'll keep an eye out for any posts from you about it!
brainiac, I had the oxford one on Wednesday, no effects until Thursday when I felt I had the flu coming, aching muscles etc. Awoke this morning and back to normal.
Good to know, vulcan, thanks
NJ, my surgery is offering the vaccination to people who can't get to the big centres. When my turn comes I've a 60 mile round trip... but no complaints from me. I'm just pleased it's happening.
Not sure we are comparing like with like.

The UK have given more people HALF the dose.
I wonder if any ABers have had both?
sunk, it may be half the dose but not half the protection.
My wife and I both had the pfeizer jab last week at a local hospital, but the gp surgery are doing nothing in spite of them using a local civic centre to dole out flu jabs.
My eldest son, furloughed from his managers job, is in the process of becoming a vaccinator.
Yes if the skills and efficiencies shown in the vaccination programme are translated to other national challenges, we will leave the Eurodonkey standing as we race ahead with the economy, new trade links, foreign policy, and thank our lucky stars for Brexit.
Just looked up the stats.

EU vaccinations 20.4 Million
UK vaccinations 15.1 Million.

I am knocking 15 million, it is a fantastic achievement for one country.
But stating it is better than the other 27 countries combined is a lie.

I can’t see the combined EU total on that link?
If you think the 20.4 Million doses is incorrect, perhaps you can post your amended figure?
Trevor, your chart is based on number per population, not total vaccinations.
Those are all different statistical analyses:
One is actual vaccinations (which I think is the most meaningful)
One is percent of population and one is per 100 people.

I am sure we all want to see the figures rise everywhere.

It is interactive you can change and filter it as required.
