" we will use every tool at our disposal to block the exports going to those that have vaccinated more that the rest of Europe" Which sums up the attitude of our "Friends in Europe" perfectly. Since, because of their ineptitude, they cannot catch up with the best, the best must be reduced to the level of the worst (them). Their recent suspension of the AZ vaccine...

It hasn’t been banned - certainly not by the EU. Some individual countries (including by the way the Democratic Republic of Congo) have delayed or suspended its use temporarily.
We shouldn’t be rubbing our hands in childish glee about this. Especially as it will affect travel arrangements adversely if there’s an uneven roll out of vaccines

The whole debarcle saddens me. Yes the EU have shown us very clealry one good reason why we left, and that is good for us. However having millions of unvaccinated people on our doorstep, ordinary people like most of us, due the politiking is a disgrace.
There also seems to be quite a misunderstanding between the EU, Europe, and private companies operating Internationally - Even on here.

Tell you what I think ich, we were living under bullying rules, you don't think there's an element of politics here?
Yes it's very sad that our European counterparts are being held to ransom by their leaders , but that's them , not us! We are no longer in the EU therefore there's nothing we can do about their silliness ,but nobody is 'clapping their hands gleefully'

Well if you have a mindset that we are being "bullied" by Europe then you will think differently.
Personally, I don't.
I wonder if the boot was on the other foot, though, and we had not had the orders we were promised, despite maintaining exports, would we have been cross?
You bet your life we would.

//AZ haven't supplied the EU with the number they contracted for, but the EU has already exported 10 million doses to Britain since the start of February. I can see why they might feel all the sharing is one-way//
Someone said the same on TV today but surely there being deliberatly misleading.
Its not the EU kindly letting us have 10 million doses, its the company selling it after UK planned ahead and made acontract with the supplier
