Free everything, 4% rise for NHS staff, double child benefit, an interim monkey to families. It's like a magic money orchard up there!

Scotland only has one destiny. It isn't a viably economic entity so will always rely on subsidies (English or EU) unless they learn to live without all the freebies.

Why would Scotland need a defence force?
Fair enough,so how many jobs lost is that?I expect Scotland may find alot of young people may move south or farther a field looking for work.Even less tax revenue. But i admit i am no expert just saying my thoughts.Personally i would be very sad if Scotland decided to go its own way,but i would respect their decision and wish them luck.

But none of that has anything to do with it! The long history you speak of would not change following independence, unless there is now a conspiracy theory which says that the bad SNP will rewrite history, Stalin style. There will still be people of many nationalities living in both countries. How is any of that going to be affected by Scottish independence?
so what currency will you use, the EU may insist on the Euro.
as a separate nation you will need to have your own military, or is that not part of the deal. Who stays head of State ? THe Queen and the royals, or would you prefer Nicola to become head of state in Scotland,
i can see so many pitfalls. not least the economy.

\\Feel all you English nationalists need to read up a wee bit more. Scotland's military force? The armed forced do not "belong" to England. I could cite many more examples, but Jackdaw's disparaging remarks sum the English up. No I don't hate the English, I just want Scotland to be in charge of its own destiny.//
by joining the EU...

I believe that an independent Scotland would seek to establish its own currency ASAP, as most other nations did following their independence:

As for being forced to join the Euro, cf with Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Sweden.
I would hope that an independent Scotland would be a republic and not part of the Commonwealth, with a democratically elected president. And not Nicola, obviously.
