In the past 36 hours has come out to say it. Sometimes it is better to stay quiet and fight from within. Maybe now Johnson has shown his true 'New Labour' colours he can say what he feels without threats.

I’m not a 100% fan of Mercer’s views. Crimes in war need pursuing and punishing, whether commited by Germans, IRA irregulars, or indeed the British army.
Otherwise the ‘Nuremberg’ defence (only obeying orders etc) is everybody’s get-out clause.
We strive to be MORE civilised, not less.
Mercer is however right in describing Johnson and his gang as unworthy of governing Britain.
