Believe me, I'm not an anti-vaxxer- and even though being allergic to the first, I did eventually still have the second. But- it was recommended not to. Many can't or won't. They are not responsible for everyone else- unless they are deliberately doing harm.

I think there is a danger of us sliding into the hyperbole that the media love when talking about national events.
We need to keep a sense of perspective here.
When the vaccination programme is completed, Covid will cease to be what the media would love it to be seen as - this century's Black Death - and it will revert to what it actually is, a virus on a par with flu.
It will be with us forever, it will give some people a nasty dose and time in bed, it will kill a small minority of people who are old and / or have weak immune systems.
So all this nonsense about stopping the unlocking plan for a few people who choose not to immunise will come to nothing - because plenty of people refuse to have a flu jab and live (and possibly die) with the consequences.
Perspective is what is required - and if that was in place, Sir Andrew's comments would not be making national news, they would be seen as what they are, an inaccurate comparison with no actual validity for the situation to which is it supposed to be referring.

Peter 111,000 cases not deaths
UK 127, 684 deaths = 1872 per million population
Thailand 649 deaths = 9 per million population
.... but we are presently experiencing an upsurge following many migrants arriving from Myanmar following the unrest there, plus rich eejeets thinking they are above the law and congregating when they shouldn't have.
I have an appointment to get my jab on July 1st. Up to a month ago it would not have been necessary

YIKES ! ow ! send him to a re-education camp ! NJ where are you? You came out with this awful and damaging booloo a year ago and have made peace with the all people who died because they believed you
Andie - stick to travelogs I implore you
The piles of dead outside Indian Hospitals should alert /jog you into realising that Covid is an eentsy bit more lethal than flu. Trump said it was an eentsy bit worse than flu and now there half a million deaths from it there
what about a Mad Andie Challenge - covid is so mild I am prepared to have myself and my family infected wivvit?
no - - - I thought not

TTT, no, an analogy usually has something in common with the actual point. That doesn't. He is trying to compare committing a dangerous crime, with personal medical health choices. They couldn't be further apart, any more than saying driving your car might kill someone. True. But irrelevant here.
With the exception of a recent AB thread on childbirth, nobody is expected to risk themselves, to potentially protect others. That isn't how we work. A drink driver only causes risks, to himself and others.
Being vaccinated gives you risks, which you can accept or not. I, like many others, no doubt, was not supposed to have the second, but not exempted either- as nobody knew.
Those two situations are not comparable.

Oh What A Circus
Oh what a plonker, oh what a nob
A L Webber has lost the plot
Over non-taking of vaccine for Covid 19
He's gone quite crazy
Moaning all day, this moaning Sir Knight
Saying stupid things, believing he's right.
Oh what a hickdead, oh what a prat
Lloyd-Webber has cited the Queen
Who said, "Think of the others in all of this."
He thinks she agrees
With his inane ramblings on drink driving
Comparing that to not having the vaccine
Still he get's his weird mug in the papers today.
But who is this Andrew Lloyd-Webber.......................................

Peter - // what about a Mad Andie Challenge - covid is so mild I am prepared to have myself and my family infected wivvit?
no - - - I thought not //
Almost all the adults in my family have had Covid, including me.
I never said it was 'mild' - why not confine yourself to what I actually said, rather than what you imagine, and then you comment on that.

TTT - // AH, trying to get sense out of Pee Pee? Good luck with that! //
Indeed!
I usually just ignore anythng he posts, I can't be bothered to try and translate his peculiar syntax, expecially when, as in the post to which I responded, he has simply not understood the post to which he is responding.
I neve said Covid was 'mild' - from personal experience I know it is not - but i did say that it will be assimilated in the way that flu is, into a fact of life that we have to live with, and we will.
