Disregard historic land ownership rights. That's another debate.
Let's get to the heart of the matter – why is Israel bombing Palestine and why is Palestine bombing Israel?
Q1. Are the Israelis bombing Palestine because they're Muslims?
A1. No. They are bombing Palestine (or more accurately, Hamas) to defend themselves from rocket attacks.
Q2. Are the Palestinians (or more accurately, Hamas) bombing Israel because they're Jewish?
A2. Yes.
Hamas' stated aim as a political entity is to obliterate the state of Israel from the Earth and with it, every Jewish person on the planet.
Given the above – which is unequivocally, demonstrably and provably true – why would anyone with a moral compass that actually functioned correctly defend the actions of Hamas?
untitled: "I don't think anyone could possibly defend Hamas... they are an evil and corrupt organisation..." - you'd think that but Labour party leaders tend to attend their funerals etc.
Naomi, your history is wrong.
Arab Effendis forbade poorer Arabs from selling land to Jews on pain of death, then bought up the pockets of land themselves to sell to the Jews at higher than market prices.
Those are facts.

Justifies?
Most of the Arabs migrated to Israel after the Jews bought up swamp and scrubland, and transformed it into productive farming land.
So justifies? Erm, yes it does.
Anyway those are the facts.
Don't care?
Of course I care about the welfare of the Palestinian pawns being played by immoral Arab leaders, but regards facts, I don't care who you spoke to.
Hope that c!ears up any misunderstanding.
There is no misunderstanding on my part. Unlike you I don’t adjust the truth to suit an agenda. Whilst for political reasons I much prefer israel to retain possession of that scrap of land, the truth is the Palestinians have been treated abominably and failure to acknowledge that is simply disingenuous.
“ Whilst for political reasons I much prefer israel to retain possession of that scrap of land, the truth is the Palestinians have been treated abominably and failure to acknowledge that is simply disingenuous.”
But if one acknowledges that the palestinians have been treated abominably is it acceptable to say that their abominable treatment should continue for “political reasons”?
Maybe if the Gaza strip was incorporated into Israel & the Palestinians there relocated to territory Israel could give up on the West Bank? (with a corridor to provide coast access) Just dreaming!
