Keeping in touch with friends and family who live far away, finding out about local events and groups, local buying and selling. I am on several discussion groups on Facebook, all private not public.
Social media helped keep me sane when we were locked down!
I love social media. People of all ages need to be taught how to protect themselves online. Strangers can't send me private messages on any platform and anyone can opt to do the same.
Youngsters need educating about this aspect of modern life.
Yet again the answer given is "Why do these girls go on social media?" , rather than "What can be done to stop men from doing this?" It's just the same as non-white people getting racial abuse online.
It's not up to the victims to leave social media, it's up to the social media platforms and relative law enforcement to find and punish those who act this way.
