I was like Nailit when the vaccine was first introduced. I did wonder how in such a short time a vaccine could be produced and perfected. However because there was a worldwide pandemic there just wasn't time to wait for months to see the effects.
The world would be in turmoil if we didn't have vaccines. Just think of all the diseases that would be still with us. Diptheria, polio, measles, mumps, Rubella, HIV are just a handful. I don't think anyone creates a fuss when they have to have jabs for Yellow Fever,Malaria,Typhoid etc. in order to visit certain countries.
Every vaccination does carry potential risks but to my mind it's a risk worth taking when you weigh up the alternative of a world riddled with disease.

I didn't make anything up. I won't claim to have performed a fully comprehensive review of all available data regarding vaccinations and subsequent deaths, but I found enough to be confident that the total number of deaths as the result of an adverse reaction worldwide is small. I estimated order 100, which may be too low, but it is clear that the risks of severe reactions as a whole, ie including severe reactions that don't lead to death, occur in something close to 10 cases per million vaccinations. Since the same source noted that most such patients recover shortly afterward, I estimated that 1% of those cases became fatal. This is a version of Fermi estimation and it's a standard technique when trying to estimate orders of magnitude. Given that there have been four billion vaccines administered so far, this led to the approx 100 figure -- I should perhaps have said "no more than a few hundred", but since I don't know I can only approximate the length of the number. Perhaps I am one order of magnitude out (ie, it's closer to a (few) thousand cases worldwide), but I find this difficult to believe. In India, where about 400 million shots have been administered, I found a story of one vaccine-linked death, and it was specifically referred to as "the first". So empirical evidence there leads to the idea that the failure rate is quite close to what I estimated.
Still, even assuming I was wildly out, which I'm not, then the figures still work out massively in favour of getting vaccinated.
This is at best highly misleading.

^^^ There is a lot of footage around of huge demonstrations all over UK this weekend. A massive demonstration in London. Also in Canada, Greece and Italy. France is really going wild. We lived not all that far from Poitiers and the Hotel du Ville there was besieged - they were throwing a portrait of Macron out of the window and waving French flags against the official E.U. one - as for the crowds in Paris.. phew!!!
U.N.N. (Unity News Network) can be a bit excitable - but they get the footage of what is actually happening.

If, emotionally, you don't want to take the vaccine, there's enough absolute twaddle on the internet for you to go out and find something to support your emotional decision. Doesn't mean it's right, or you're right. Logically, rationally, reasons for having the vaccine FAR outweigh reasons for not having it, especially when considered at population scale rather than at the individual level.

Lol, genius BA. All because you didn't like the (correct) answer I gave to your OP. Such children.
jim360// According to the Gov. (MHRA) 1,500 people have died shortly after an adverse reaction to the Covid vaccine since Nov2020 in this country . //
///This is at best highly misleading.///
It ain't. It's exactly what the Gov. (reluctantly) reported.
Given the Gov's advocation for vaccines it could well be misleadingly low.
Then you insert some nonsense from, of all people, *Full Fact putting up a strawman, a free newsletter, and knocking it down. A transparent tactic used by all 'fact' checkers when they can't get away from inconvenient facts.
Full Fact was rejected as just another scam (in a long line from the get rich quick pair of frauds that set it up) by the Charity Commission.
In an unprecedented move Call Me Dave (Cameron) rang the head of the CC and asked him to reverse the decision.
