Remember the claim by Brexiteers that UK would be "swamped with immigrants" if EU membership continued.

Well, Brexit seems to be increasingly active in this respect. But of course we Remainers always knew the Brexiteers were lying - unfortunately many of the great unwashed were taken in by the pernicious propaganda.

Depends on what you mean by a "cushy life". If you think of it as having the best of everything then no it is not that, however if you think of it as providing you with a very liveable lifestyle whilst not having to work then it is. And for many of the illegals economic migrants the standard of life provided is far above what they left.

And Canary you are talking Rowlocks as usual.
I'm sorry, Gromit, but you're the one talking utter rubbish.

Some of the recent crossers of the channel were filmed and one was discovered to be wearing Balenciaga trainers that cost several hundred pounds. Either he had a very nice job back home or he stole them. If the former, why would he seeks a job in this country if the one he had paid him enough to afford hideously expensive footwear?

They are coming here for the free healthcare, free housing and endless handouts. Some are even claiming benefits for children back home that don't even exist.

Honestly, what planet are you on?
I can understand gulliver completely misunderstanding this issue gulliver but am surprised at you so assume its a wind up
Gulliver does not misunderstand the issue. He deliberately misrepresents it.
LadyG

On my planet there are counterfeits - genuine fakes. Turkish markets are full of Balenciaga, Rolex, Gucci.

Assuming these migrants are well off is bonkers.
perhaps i should Douglas, i had a hard time getting the initial benefit, and i was quite ill, but got support from welfare rights officer, who handled the form for me, a daunting task but one that left me better off in the longer term. Once in the system it's not hard to negotiate other benefits. I agree with Lcg one hundred percent
bobbinwales,
It is a deliberate wind up. The Thunberg avatar confirms it.
Like when an OP has a Thatcher or Farage avatar, they are nailing their colours to the mast.
Well they paid enough to get here, Gromit. Your assumption that they are impoverished, persecuted or otherwise destitute is indicative of your complete ignorance of this invasion and your assertions are, frankly, bonkers.
// why do so many seemingly end up without work? //

They cannot work legally until their status is sorted out.
Gromit are making a career out of picking the bones out of a thread? Same as you did to mine last night till it became so boring I went to bed !!
I think the Thuberg avatar is a bit of an own goal for the Canary.
they should be sent packing.... illegals are a blight on UK.
LadyG
You forgot the line about living in 5 star hotels.
Gromit, there is a hotel less than 10 miles from where I am sitting right now and all its rooms are let for the rest of the year. They are housing migrants. The migrants are getting 3 meals a day. Their accommodation and food is being paid by the taxpayer. That is just one hotel. There are a vast number of hotels across the country that are similarly accommodating migrants.

Wake up and smell the coffee.
I admit the avatar of the hysterical teenage girl does stick in my craw, so it does work for canary if that is the intention.
12,500 so far this year suggests our border defences are useless.
Instead of paying a fortune to ‘send them packing’ perhaps if we made more of an effort to keep them out in the first place.

Well I couldn't agree more...
me too. ^^

\\No one on benefits has a cushy life.//

Then how would you explain that there are families living near me who are third and fourth generation collecting benefits. They seem to be quite happy living permanently off the state.
