**Services may have to be cut unless NHS England receives an extra £10bn in funding next year, groups representing the health service have warned.**
I can help them a little. A close relative of mine received a letter from her GP inviting her to have a shingles jab. This was on 27th August. She made an appointment for today and arrived as instructed. "I'm not ready to give you your jab" says the nurse, "because you are not yet 70."
"But you invited me. The letter said nothing about being over 70. If that's the case why did you send the letter? In any case you took my date of birth when I made the appointment. Anyway, I'm 70 in three days' time so it should be alright, surely."
"Sorry. I'll make you another appointment."
"No you ****ing won't. You've wasted enough of my time and of taxpayers' money. I'll take my chances."
So, an appointment wasted. A letter wasted. Nurse's time wasted. Patient untreated. "The envy of the world?"

The UK has been defined as a National Health Service with a country attached, the average pay for a doctor is now £100,000 p.a. & my daughter has had to wait 3 weeks to see one in person. No political party dare take on the inevitable task of a complete reform. The NHS is most definitely not 'the envy of the World'.

Yes, let’s have some honesty. It was a good suggestion but Boris wasn’t in a position to promise anything because he wasn’t prime minister which is why it wasn’t a promise and never worded as such. Anyone who thinks it was needs not only to examine their ability to comprehend plain English but their ability to understand how government works. Years on and this claptrap remains claptrap.
Tora, your quote is a question, not a proposition. A roposition is a statement of opinion or judgement. "Let's spend it on our NHS" is indeed a proposition, but why is it one that hasn't come to fruition? Why make such a comment if you have no intention of following through? (Answer: to gain leave votes)
mozz: "but why is it one that hasn't come to fruition? Why make such a comment if you have no intention of following through? (Answer: to gain leave votes) " - we spend much much more than that and I believe the PM has just announced another £13bn which actually equates to £250m a week by itself so I'd say that even though it was only a suggestion it has more or less been carried out.
Do you remember when Farridge said that if the vote were to be 52/48 in favour of remain, it wouldn't be the end of the battle? He soon changed his tune when it was the other way round. The people of this country deserved a more intelligent and adult approach to such a very important and complex issue, and all they got was a shambles, followed by nasty gloating by the 'winners' who have since shown no interest in working towards uniting the country, but have simply crowed and insulted the 'losers' by using inflammatory terms like 'Remoaners'. Even the schoolyard of my youth was more mature than you lot.

athiest: "The people of this country deserved a more intelligent and adult approach to such a very important and complex issue, and all they got was a shambles" - I agree, why did no one tell us anything good about the EUSSR rather than concentrating on trying to frighten us? ", followed by nasty gloating by the 'winners' who have since shown no interest in working towards uniting the country" - err we are not the ones still moaning and siding with foreigners over everything, why don't you join us as we make this work?, " but have simply crowed and insulted the 'losers' by using inflammatory terms like 'Remoaners'." - you made that popular yourselves by err moaning all the time.
TTT; keep on digging.
I suspect that you would win the first prize for posting insulting epithets on AB. Most of your political or religious posts refer to anyone left of you as nasty lefties or terrorists. You try to use the 'banter' card to excuse your antagonistic tone. You hide behind childish acronyms to try to avoid being found guilty of provocative terms. You accuse people of being trolls or UK haters just because they dare to have different views from you. And now I expect you will be offended that I have dared to express my honest views on your behaviour.

Tora, if there's one thing you should know about me and Brexit, is that I am over it, I even said (19:44) that it doesn't change the outcome. However, that doesn't mean that I shouldn't question the motives of the Leave movement, lead by the man who is now PM. And please keep things respectful, as I have tried to do. You're not talking to Gulliver anymore.
