This is tragic news. Sir David was a loyal backbencher and a loyal Thatcherite at the time. I still remember his grinning face at the 1992 election. At the time he was MP for the very marginal seat of Basildon in Essex. A seat he was widely expected to lose, an essential gain for Labour if they were to have any chance. It was one of the first results declared and he held the seat comfortably. This was the first indication that things were not going Kinnock's way.

First Jo Cox and now David Amess, it must be bringing it all back for Jo's husband and family.

It's time to put an end to right-on liberal Policing and Justice. Kife crime must be tackled, not just for MP's but for the public at large. Carry a knife, first offence 5 years, second 10 years. Use a knife, life.

We are now in the 11th year of Tory rule, isn’t that the point of voting Conservative. Cutting the force by 20,000 hasn’t helped.
