The Tory MP Owen Paterson faces a 30-day suspension from the House of Commons for an “egregious” breach of lobbying rules, raising the possibility he could lose his seat if enough constituents trigger a byelection.
Parliamentary standards commissioner Kathryn Stone’s investigation, which was launched in October 2019, found Paterson had worked as a consultant to Randox, a clinical diagnostics company, since August 2015, and Lynn’s Country Foods, a processor and distributor of meat products, since December 2016.
She said he made three approaches to the Food Standards Agency relating to Randox and the testing of antibiotics in milk; seven approaches to the same agency relating to Lynn’s Country Foods; and four approaches to ministers at the Department for International Development relating to Randox and blood testing technology.

Namely cheese and ham, that had been unequivically linked with a carcagenic chemical that caused an agressive reaction if eaten in quantity. The company that discovered this was Randox. Can you guess where the companies making these "products" were based. Right again.
Just to give a little historical(rather than hysterical) content. The question was only raised after Paterson had no acknowledgement or response from the chief vetinary officer or various heads of Government Offices including the International Developement Minister(laughable title given his political view) Rory Stewart whom Paterson lobbed. Stewart is a paid up remainiac who has to deliver for the years of favours recieved and was not called to give "evidence".The wrong evidence was not perhaps what Kathryn Stone needed having stated that her mind was made up before any hearing was held.

The evidence I subsequently produced has been largely ignored, or wrongly disregarded as irrelevant.
And that:
I am driven to believe that the Commissioner determined my guilt long before her inquiry finished, and probably as early as November/December 2020."
Why then, did he state he "believed" rather than he had been telt by the Commissioner she had already made up her mind?

ymb is way over the top saying they're all at it: they aren't. But if he's worried about impartiality, what does he think of the prime minister having sole charge of the ministerial code - which is how Priti Patel gets away with anything she likes? (And indeed, how Boris himself does.)

Paterson denies any wrong doing as rhere was no pecuniary advantage.

And as become apparent his lobbying on behalf of Randox resulted in the company getting a half billion pound contract without any tendering advertising or open contest resulted in a huge amount of taxpayers money going to Paterson’s chums, then you have to conclude the system-is rotten and corrupt.
