Gromit. Respectfully, he was "pocketing" the money, as a payed sponsor, in any case. He could have walked on by without doing anything, but instead, when it became known about the carcinogens in the milk, he acted. He has no responsibility to pay any money back to anyone.
What is clear, is that, not content with destroying a man and his family, the media, stoked up by the likes of Gobbo and Robotman, will milk this (excuse the pun) for all it's worth.
// If I was an MP, I would feel morally bound to be a whistleblower//

Yes, and that would be correct providing you did it with the pretty clear rules. He could easily have declared the interest again when blowing the whistle but didnt.

The other problem with you post is that you are isolating one of the rules broken. He broke many more and they were clearly not whistle blowing.

He should have fallen on his sword, he would probably have been forgive and re-elected. But not now, along with the despicable Johnson he has dragged the Tory Party down.

Shame on them both, the 1922 needs to get its act together and return proper Tories.
Just another typical example of closing ranks in the "Con Cronie Club "
As Cameron said ..... "We are all in this together".....
//Large majorities in Parliament are dangerous because the ruling party knows it can do anything it wants without any repercussions.//

Coultnt agree more Gromit and its something I have said on here before. Good Governments are generally make by good opposition.

Labour is failing in this regard, Starmer needs to get his act together. He could easily have defeated this given the number of abstentions, (Good on them).
Give it a rest Gulliver, this is typical of all parties. By making such unhelpful (and untrue) remarks you detract from the underlying problem that needs to be sorted.
YMB, 20.16..It's you that needs a rest.... This Owen Paterson case ,
is Politically Motivated ,to twist the laws and rules in favour of the Con's and well you know it. This present Govt have built a defensive wall around it's own MPs, and are getting away with it.
You haven't read my posts at all have you Gulliver?

I very clearly agree with you in them, so why are you writing rubbish like that
?
Too late Danny, the damage is done to him and the Party.

Johnson really needs to go now. I wonder who leant on him?
YMB what You , the Tory Party and your fellow supporters are really concerned about is this could well result in a By election in Paterson's Constituency, and the Con's without a doubt would lose that seat.
Gulliver // this could well result in a By election//
Rubbish, all it will result in is a 30 day suspension for Paterson.
Regardless of the tragic circumstances surrounding Mr Paterson this still doesn’t feel right
Well his constituents could raise a petition for a by-election.

Not saying they should, but they could
I have emailed the Prime minister
using the usual buzz words
greed sleaze vote collapse out of office deserved punishment

Paterson was a whistle blower my irse
he blew the whistle on how empty his bank account was
and how dairy companies should fill it

christ gullible or what?
// Well his constituents could raise a petition for a by-election.//

no zair eez this leedol point: he has to be convicted of an offence OR suspended....
so far he hasnt
Following yesterday's vote, there will now be an emergency three-hour debate about the matter on Monday.
// so why are you writing rubbish like that//
because this is AB
and to use Pr Charles phrase, it would look out of context with the rest of the posts
ter daaah
look out of context if he didnt ( write rubbish)
sozza - too in love wizz my own one liner
// //Large majorities in Parliament are dangerous because the ruling party knows it can do anything it wants without any repercussions.///

big thing in Germany apparently AND- the credible opposition comes from within the party in power and NOT the opposition ...

so true so true Gulliver

what is it like to go from crazy guy yesterday to prophet and seer today?
