Canadian Covid denier who was being prosecuted for breaching lockdown to attend a flat-earth convention is found dead days after posting video saying he had cough and chills ‘but it isn’t Covid, because that doesn’t exist’

//He had claimed to be taking ivermectin, an anti-parasite drug, to treat his illness.

Ivermectin is popular among anti-vaxxer communities as a treatment to Covid but health officials in the US and Canada have repeatedly warned people against using.//

Me having a go at Mak Parhar won't change a thing, if his death makes a few others change their views then some good has come from his choices in how he dealt with his life.

Same as it ever was. Obviously ill.
the posts removed (indluding one of mine, I think) were all totally off-topic and some of them randomly abusive. The thread is much better and more informative now that they've gone. People are too easily sidetracked into personal squabbles.
//moderator takes umbrage and wields the big eraser.//

Didn't you know? That is what rubbers on the end of a pencil are for.
vulcan - Posts that refer to deleted threads or posts, or are off the topic of the thread - or both, are removed, that is standard practice.

Far from 'reducing the thread to a shambles' - it stops the thread from being derailed into pointless arguments about deleted posts, which are nothing to do with the OP, and are against AB policy.

We cross-posted, but thank you for your support of the moderation process.

The Moderator in question is no doubt trying to stop the thread degenerating and being closed or pulled altogehter.
How do we know it's more informative with so many statements gone?

Can't argue with that.

My point is that I find it really unpleasant that people are willing to rejoice over the death of a stranger simply because he elected to make different choices, and paid that price for them.
you'll have to take my word for it, vulcan. But may I suggest that sidetracking the thread yet again into a discussing about mods isn't helping matters?
vulcan - // How do we know it's more informative with so many statements gone? //

As I pointed out, off-thread posts, or those discussing deletions are removed - so I would suggest that they added nothing to the discussion, and that is probably why they were removed.
Quite right Andy, rejoicing in someone's death is not my style - I find it all very sad.
I have every sympathy for him. Nobody deserves to die, from covid, or the countless allowed to, because covid is the only priority now.
I disagree with him, in that covid obviously exists. But he didn't invent it. And who knows, he may have been killed by the vaccine. Different choices don't make someone evil- particularly when it can only affect themselves.

Killed by the vaccine? I doubt he’d have had the vaccine if he thought covid didn’t exist. The link indicates that he was a member of the anti-vax community.
