hasnt the gubmint already indemnified vaccine reactions ? ( = said they would pay)

4 deaths in england from the vaccine (official sources)
PP, I thought, but I may be wrong, that this was what drove the early use of the AZ vaccine: that the government indemnified the AZ people against it going wrong. A big financial gamble but it paid off.
The problem with this type of thing is where you draw the line. People do all kinds stupid things that cause them to end up in hospital. Smoking for example. Should their bills not be paid either?
Where to draw the line is a political decision that will vary from country to country. Just like Singapore's attitude to drugs is a bit different to Holland's, and our attitude to euthanasia is a bit different to Switzerland's ...
Er ..yes. Singapore will do what it likes, as will The Netherlands. I suppose my point was about the general principle of decisions like this.
Not only smoking, Tomus. Alcohol too. The effects of alcohol on people costs the NHS, and the country, 10 times more than the effects of smoking.. I mean, who ever heard of anyone taking a day off sick because they had a cigarette too many? Who ever heard of wife beating being caused by smoking? Who ever heard of a road death being caused by a cigarette? Who ever heard of town centre violence being caused by smoking? Anyway, enjoy your glasses of alcohol as you read this!
In response to Clarion St at 9;52 an emphatic yes, kill yourself if you want to buut dont take bed places and money from a struggling NHS. I`d extend that to the Saturday evening crowd clogging A&E after punchups, booze and drug use or accidents leading from those.
