Yep, 30 long years that have somehow become 30 short years. Such is the passage of time.
Eric Carr did die on the same day, Pixie but his passing was (perhaps understandably) overshadowed by that of Freddie.
That first album was, in my most humble of opinions, Queen's best. Despite their skills not being as honed as they were on later albums, despite those albums containing some never-to-be-forgotten tracks, their debut album had a bit of everything Queen were as a band. I will be forever indebted to my army mate who bought the album having heard they were a very 'heavy' band, only to decide they weren't heavy enough for him. He walked into my room, threw the album on my bed and said, "If you like them, you can keep it." I was blown away. Thanks, Bob :-))
