Who Wants Masks?

Boris announced yesterday that masks are to be made compulsory again in shops. In the summer he said that there would be no going back on the relaxation of measures. Face masks are a complete waste of time given the way that most people wear them so how many will join me in this little bit of civil disobedience and refuse to wear them?

Why are people casually talking about another national lockdown as if its some kind of minor inconvenience? I really do believe that some are relishing the prospect. They don't seem to care that it would have a devestating effect on the economy. Alright I will wear a mask if I must, but, nobody is going to tell me where I can travel and who I can visit over Christmas, they can go forth and multiply as far as I'm concerned.

if it means wearing a mask out so be it, i can do that, but we have events planned and a birthday to celebrate, i hate the idea of any more lockdowns. seeing friends freely now, and , about our business means so much.

Those of us who. like me, have been double-jabbed AND the booster aren't a great threat to others. Before anyone else accuses me of being selfish, let me say that we're having a family gathering at Christmas and we've all agreed that we'll do LFTs before setting off.

Facemasks are just theraputic. They do nothing. Proof of that comes from the first lockdown from March 2020. Facemasks were not compulsory during that lockdown, and the rates fell dramatically. People don't want to acknowledge this fact and quite clearly want to be told they have to wear a facemask, and obviously enjoy wearing one so that they can be all saintly and precious with their vitue signalling and attention seeking. But if you want to wear a facemask, then wear one.

i am not saint like and don't like wearing it, as i often restricts my breathing, but will wear it where necessary.

Dont do as your asked and then you can't complain if others don't do it either and then lockdowns or at least tighter restrictions come in as cases rocket due to omicron and winter and Christmas garherings

Assuming you don't succumb to Covid and expire you'll carry on breathing with or without a mask, diddly, but if that's what you hope to achieve I'm at a loss to understand why you need to broadcast your intention or to encourage others to join you in what you call 'civil disobedience'. You wouldn't just be trying to show what a little rebel you are, would you diddly, as you so often do - because if that's the case you're not impressing very many.

back in the day diddly would and did adhere to all lockdowns, according to previous posts on the subject and was might sniffy on anyone who didn't play by the rules, what's changed i wonder.

I know several people who will be refusing to wear them. I'm not as brave, even though I don't want to, I also don't want to be banned from shops, so I am being dictated to again, against my will !!!

Diddlydo, your argument seems to be that wearing a mask protects other people but not you, so you won't wear one. However you're quite happy that everybody else wears one to protect you but you're not going to reciprocate. You call this civil disobedience, I call it being selfish.

Also, this is only a small site. If you look on Mail Online with its many thousands of comments, the vast majority agree with you diddly and many say they will not be wearing them.
