The Council Tax freeze was introduced in 2007 - I reckon 14 years of "freeze" is pretty good going by any standards.

Council tax is a very unfair tax. Not everyone contributes, only one householder. There are many thousands pay nothing but yet still get a vote in local elections. If you don't contribute you have nothing to lose by voting for those who promise the earth. How is that fair?

It's not fair at all, Dave. The principle of "no taxation without representation" should also apply in reverse.

Business rates are a similar travesty and business owners do not even get their dustbins emptied.

Yes the community charge was a much fairer system but the great unwashed didn't fancy having to pay their way so they organised a riot in London.

Surely it is up to the householder that pays the council tax to get the rest of the adults that live in the house to pay their share?

There are thousands on various benefits who don't pay anything but still get a vote.
