And until he was knighted, none of his (more successful - you decide) successors can be similarly rewarded.
I suspect there are few people who are genuinely pleased for him, I'm not one of them.....and knowing that his wife will be *Lady* Cherie is making me feel slightly nauseous.

However loathsome Sit Tony is, the fact remains that he is Labour's last elected PM and the only Labour PM ever to win three elections on the trot. That alone is worthy of honour. Yes, he invaded Iraq, on a mandate from MP's such as David Lammy, but went on to win another election after that. He is Labour's most successful PM ever, and has been followed by a ragbag mob of wet rags and robots. Who knows, a few decades from now, Labour could win again under Euan or Leo Blair?! Boris is likely to retire when he gets to 75.
