Why Isn't It Considered Racist
when news stories point out that people are black or people of colour - twice this week stories have centred on someone's ethnicity. The woman who trekked to the South Pole was the 'first woman of colour' to do so and now Sidney Poitier is being hailed as the first black actor to win an Oscar for Best Actor. Surely that is being racist by pointing it out?

Time we stopped talking about colour and treated people as people. Prejudice won’t end until we do.

naomi - // AH, if you want to talk to me about an unrelated topic post a separate thread. I'll be happy to join you there. //
I think it is related, so I'll stay here, where the evidence of your double standards is clear for anyone interested in reading the thread back.
I fully expect you to decline to continue - that's what you do when you lose an exchange.

naomi - // AH, there has been no exchange. If you want to talk to me about Islam the invitation to start another thread remains. Failing that, stay where you like. //
You're stalling again.
My point is very simple - it is about you referring to ' treating people as people ...' which you singularly fail to do on this site on a regular basis.
It has nothing to do with Islam per se, that is simply the platform for your deeply incised prejudice, which you now want to disavow in order to appear reasonable and all-welcoming with your platitudinous BA.
I know your last post is your exit strategy, I expect nothing else, but you have been caught out with your dissembling and I am sure the regulars would have more respect for you, were you simply to admit it, instead of huffing, puffing, and absenting yourself from the exchange, as you always do.
