when news stories point out that people are black or people of colour - twice this week stories have centred on someone's ethnicity. The woman who trekked to the South Pole was the 'first woman of colour' to do so and now Sidney Poitier is being hailed as the first black actor to win an Oscar for Best Actor. Surely that is being racist by pointing it out?

Time we stopped talking about colour and treated people as people. Prejudice won’t end until we do.

Roadman, if you think wanting people to be treated just as people is stupid I feel very sorry for you.
Naomi - Does that apply to Muslims as well then?
Racism to me is where there is a slur or discrimination against an individual or a group on the basis of colour or creed. Neither apply in the OP.
AH. Religion is not about colour and has no place in this thread.
Nice try, but your BA talks about 'treating people as people ... ' and coming from you, that's a bit rich!!!
As long as the people are acceptable in someone's eyes, it makes perfect sense.
AH, if you're looking to start yet another of your spurious arguments try someone else.
Naomi - And you are looking to slide out of being caught being a hypocrite.

As per, you will dismiss or ignore my point - that's what you do when you lose an argument.
You don't have a point, AH. Religion has nothing to do with colour - or this thread.
Naomi - Is that your best?

Religion is not about colour, but if, as your BA advises, we should be treating people the same, and as long experience and evidence regarding your views on Islam, you patently fail to live up to your hollow pious preaching.
Naomi you say im stupid because i think you should respect the history a culture or race has been through you say that isnt treating people like real people yes i feel sorry for you to lol
oh you acknowledge that a race was suppressed for a millennia how dare you not treat that person like a person lol what am i reading
Religion has nothing to do with colour but it has something to do with treating people like people doesnt it so why cant you make the correlation oh because it doesnt suit your agenda
Roaming - There is no shame in being exposed as being in error.

There is shame in refusing to acknowledge the error, and to continue to bluff and pontificate, before dismissing and walking away to re-emerge another day.

Such behaviour is hypocritical, but all too common.
Roadman, I've no idea what you're talking about.

AH, if you want to talk to me about an unrelated topic post a separate thread. I'll be happy to join you there.
// Roadman, I've no idea what you're talking about. //

See what I mean roadman?

naomi - // AH, if you want to talk to me about an unrelated topic post a separate thread. I'll be happy to join you there. //

I think it is related, so I'll stay here, where the evidence of your double standards is clear for anyone interested in reading the thread back.

I fully expect you to decline to continue - that's what you do when you lose an exchange.
AH, there has been no exchange. If you want to talk to me about Islam the invitation to start another thread remains. Failing that, stay where you like.
naomi - // AH, there has been no exchange. If you want to talk to me about Islam the invitation to start another thread remains. Failing that, stay where you like. //

You're stalling again.

My point is very simple - it is about you referring to ' treating people as people ...' which you singularly fail to do on this site on a regular basis.

It has nothing to do with Islam per se, that is simply the platform for your deeply incised prejudice, which you now want to disavow in order to appear reasonable and all-welcoming with your platitudinous BA.

I know your last post is your exit strategy, I expect nothing else, but you have been caught out with your dissembling and I am sure the regulars would have more respect for you, were you simply to admit it, instead of huffing, puffing, and absenting yourself from the exchange, as you always do.
"platitudinous" - they live in Australia don't they?
