I tuned in to BBC News at 12.00 to find out the result of the by-election - after waiting twenty-five minutes for it to be even mentioned it was given less than two minutes coverage. I think this is disgraceful and is sadly indicative of the BBC's anti Conservative party bias. The report said the Conservatives had 'hung on' to the seat - hardly an appropriate term. Time they lost the licence fee.

The BBC have reported that the Tories won this election. Typical. The Baarstads have always been biased towards the right.

You are being ironic of course; the Tory win stuck in their craw so much the were unable to say it was a "win" they, as the OP says, reported that they, 'hung on'.

Boris meanwhile has fairly drastic plans for clipping the wings of the BBC which they don't like one little bit & are doing everything they can to denigrate & oust him. Billionaire Sunak is starting to intimate that he might consider the top job, - just wondering if whoever lets it be known that they might take a softer line will get a lot of positive coverage from the Beeb, as they continue to paint Boris in the worst possible light.

The OP just got his pants in a tangle because he heard "hung on" at some time after midnight. Which I heartily agree could have been worded better.
Like I said before, tho, desperate barrel scraping.
When people who accuse the BBC of left wing bias are pressed for examples all they ever come up with nonsense like this.
For ages the person who selected the audiences for Question Time was a past member of UKIP, Nick Robinson, who for some bizarre reason gets a lot of flak, is a former Conservative party activist, James Harding, recent head of news, is a former editor of the Times and Mr Murdoch doesn't tend to appoint leftists to that post
