Hopkirk - there's only one thing that you can add to a good scotch and it ain't Coke, ice or even water.....it's...?

Much as my son and son-in-law like a wee dram, I'll have to pass this time!
It will still taste like pish to me regardless of the price tag
Don't know about tasting pish, i think they're taking the pish.
I'm definitely going to buy one and then put it on Ebay.
Macallan distill a superb whisky. I would love a bottle and would drink it ... if only. The 12yr old double or triple cask is just about my price limit though.
I would love to taste it.
Macallan is my favourite. Particularly like the 25 year old, bet this is gorgeous.

True tale YMB. We have a neighbour who is from the Shetland Isles and a proper lass she is too. On Christmas Eve it has been her thing to invite all the near neighbours(selectively) round for a drink and a nibble or two before she goes "hame" for the New Year. One year she asked me if I would like a drop of Whisky because I hadn't taken a beer. Of course, ... and another? Then another asked for a dram then another. She came out with the bottle 25yr old Macallan and a cresfallen look on her face, and it was finished in good style. On a guilt trip we, and our next but one neighbours, chipped in and had a bottle waiting to give her when she got home. I though that she would cry with joy.
Naomi, "I would love to taste it."
So would i - providing someone else paid for it :-)
Nice tale Togo. Wish I had been there to help!

I once spent my daily expense allowance (and more) on the 25 year old in the Crowne Plaza in Bruxlles where I was stopping (They had a promotion on the whiskey). And not a drop of buyers remorse either :-)
No such thing as buyer's remorse when it comes to a good Whisky. Douglas is fond of a nice dram too. Obvs. :))
The prices for Macallan have just about doubled in the last 4 years.
I'll stick to my Lagavulin, Tamnavulin, Highland Park, Tomatin and Scapa Flow.
Another true story( for you royalists)
About 1985 I happen to be touring the Highlands+ the Hebrides. And thought why not pay a visit to Laphroaig. Luckily it mustve been quiet. As there was only 2 of us. After the wee tour, we were ushered into the tasting room. Where there happen to be 2 leather bound armchairs, as I sat on one, I was told that Prince Charles has sat on the same chair only a week ago. I took it with a pinch of salt, not literally.
Not a fan of The Macallan, I'd rather have a Laphroaig QC.
I hope that they had cleaned the seat for you, Piggynose.....and struck a plaque that you had visited them....
It might be alright with a splash of Coke.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaarghhhhh ^ to the last post....
