Putin can murder, lie, cheat, threaten, be a war criminal. But when Biden says get rid of Putin the White house back tracks. Just don't make any sense to me. Biden said what needed to be said.

I get your point Andy. But at the moment Putin sees the west to be gullible and weak.
So in my book a few more truths and harsher words won't go a miss from the west.
Bullies thrive on on fear and intimidation, and will continue to do so if they keep hitting slush opposed to steel.

In my experience all bullies large or small back down when faced with the prospect of getting hurt themselves.
On a more positive note it appears Putin is hitting steel, lots of it from the Ukrainian forces. That steel now needs to be propped up and strengthened by the west with more weapons regardless of the rubbish coming out of the Kremlin. Peace talks should be treated for what they really are just now, delaying tactics, distraction and lies.

Plus if Russia have really decided to pull back then they won't have any objection to the UN humanitarian force going in.

Talk of the Russians moving back from Kiev should be treated with the upmost scepticism. Putin is not only deranged he is a known liar, having said once he had no plans to invade Ukraine at all.

Does everyone not see what I see when I look at those maps every night on TV? It is sad to say but Mariupol is doomed to eventually fall & then that map will show a complete red, horseshoe-shape open to the west surrounding the East side of the country, from Crimea along the new corridor to the Donbas & along the top to Kiev. Then there will be a full pincer movement driving out the troops in the centre, back to Kiev.

The plan will then be to split the country in two with Kiev & a new puppet government forming East Ukraine & the West Ukraine will have Lvov as it's capitol.

That is the plan & I'm sure it will happen, unless that is, someone steps up to the plate & blows Putin's effing brains out.

Putin must have been laughing his head off at the media the last couple of days. Putin's reason for pulling back is to give the peace talks a good stage to work from.
My guess at the moment is his army is in a complete mess and getting battered by the Ukrainians. But that don't mean he's given up.
