Poisoning Pies

It seems shocking that two died and a further 28 are in hospital after having been offered what must have appeared to be a kind gesture of free baked items and a further 300 in hospital posioned by drink. The Ukrainian hospitals treating their enemy with kindness, or are they being taken beck to Russia for treatment?

I wonder what poison was used. Can't really think of anything readily available that wouldn't serious affect the taste of the pies. (Drink could be laced with methyl alcohol of course.

A granny in Kyiv the other week claimed to have taken out a Russian drone with a jar of pickled tomatoes.

I can vouch for the fact that, whether true or not, pickled tomatoes are always in plentiful supply for the defence of the city ...

We were warned not to accept any edibles from the locals during all 3 tours of Ulster in the 70s. The warnings came with a tale of a couple of soldiers being given bottles of Guinness. One of the squaddies noticed the top had been 'tampered' with as if it had been previously removed and then re-capped. Of course, there was never any evidence to back this up, but i was told the same tale on all 3 tours.

Of course in the early days there were genuine offers made, and accepted also.
