This ones clearly a danger to the public and is not carrying a full load. He/She/They/It is also a danger to other prisoners, as amply demonstrated by murdering one before.

A psychiatrist's role is first of all to assess the presence, and severity, of a mental disorder, and then treat it accordingly.

You can't 'encourage' a mental disorder, only the pretence of one.

As I understand it - and I am always open to correction if in error - the concept of 'transition' in this case merely indicates that the individual has started to dress and act as a woman, and asked to be regarded as such.

No actual physical change has taken place - therefore no tax payers' money is involved in this aspect of the situation.

There is no information in the link that confirms that any assessment has taken place with regard to the prisoner's wish to be treated as a baby.

If however such assessment is made, and the psychiatrists decide that a dummy and baby food are an appropriate response, it would not be for me to disagree with their professional knowledge.

I don't believe this is anything to do with mental health but is simply mischief for the amusement of a very bored prisoner

Canary, did you hear about the trans who was placed in a women’s ward in hospital and raped another patient? For a year the hospital said there were no men on the ward so it couldn’t have happened. Watch where you place your sympathy.

I think canary is right. We fully need to understand these mental issues better- and treat them appropriately. Currently, we are sterilising people who feel they don't fit the stereotyping... I suspect they is the "dinosaur" aspect.
