Is Captain Hindsight Going Into Hiding?
"Labour has cancelled an event for Monday in which Sir Keir was due to give a speech and take questions from journalists ahead of Tuesday's Queen's Speech.
The Institute for Government think tank, which was hosting the event, was not given any specific reasons for why Labour had cancelled it.

" neither party gate nor beer gate are resigning issues in themselves. However calling for someone to resign over an issue sort of puts you in the frame if you do that same thing yourself." - so if KS had kept his trap shut instead of calling for Boris to go when he knew he was also in the frame he'd be fine.

1ozzy - // That's a post Andy Hughes would be proud of Deskdiary. //
No, I wouldn't/
DD states - // I couldn't give a tinker's cuss about BJ not having a piece of cake or SKS and Raynor enjoying a beer and curry social, and I don't think either are resigning matters ... //
Wheras I think they are absolutley resigning matters.
It the government are incapable of following the rules they set and enforce on the rest of us, then Boris Johnson should resign.
If The Opposition have managed to paint themselves into a corner by hooting about resignations for breaking rules they themselves have broken, then Keir Starmer should resign.

Very Clever move here by Labour.
Sir Keir has had enough and wants to go, so he will resign using this Beer slur that the Con's have drummed up as the reason , so that will put Johnsons head on the slab. Johnson will have to go or there will be public disorder. Then Sir Keir will be known as the man who caused the downfall of the Worst P/M in living history Cons lose the next G/E.

" - once more for the hard of thinking.... For the reasons mentioned above xN Boris is not going to resign, If Rodders ends up putting his own head on the block because he's been mouthing off for weeks than that'll be yet another Labour Scalp for the Tory's Trophy wall. Labour are still struggling to get to year 26 in power out of 122! Oh dear!

Not only ... but also.
//The Labour leader’s team invited dozens of advisers to an in-person Christmas bash in December 2020, in a move which would appear to have breached Tier 2 restrictions had it gone ahead. The event was later cancelled when London was placed into tougher Tier 3 restrictions, Politico reported today (Monday, May 9), but invites for the London party went out when indoor mixing between households was banned. An email was sent by the Keir Starmer’s office to Labour aides inviting them to the Christmas party on December 17, the news site claimed. A Labour source told Politico it would have seen a group of up to 40 people gathered at the same venue in separate groups of six. But the source said they declined the invite because they believed it would be a breach of the rules.//
Haha. An ex DPP who can't understand "the rules". Ever likely that the CPS was such a shambles when he was there.
