"Labour has cancelled an event for Monday in which Sir Keir was due to give a speech and take questions from journalists ahead of Tuesday's Queen's Speech.

The Institute for Government think tank, which was hosting the event, was not given any specific reasons for why Labour had cancelled it.

The Labour Party has declined to comment."

Depends on what they look like surely ;-)
Remember the sulky kid playing cricket? They never grow out of the inbuilt trait. Out for a duck their innings, and then slink off home when their turn to field comes. ... Gromit.

Well he's coming out of hiding at 4.00 to make a statement - this will be buttock clenching.
Danny 12 17 .Sir Keir on tv now saying if he gets a FPN he will resign....false news eh! . get the facts right.
Breaking News... Starmer threatens plod that if they give him a fine then he will quit.... Ahhh diddums.
Bull's droppings - trying to deflect from beergate.

I have no particular feelings about Starmer but I hope he keeps his word.

DonkeyHoaty on another thread " would put immense pressure on the PM to follow suit? "
Ken on this thread: "wouldn't that put immense pressure on Johnson to do likewise? "
very similar terminology, Ken = DH, what do we think?

Aw bless you. Your fascination with me persists. Well, it’s bordering on paranoia now but never mind.
So far I am or have been Spath, TheDevil and now I am Ken too.
Your rather poor and tired attempts at deflecting the pressure from Johnson is futile.
As I said previously, Beergate may well prove to be a master stroke.
Both Starmer and Rayner have indicated that they will resign if fined.
Just because you deem Beergate and Partygate as trivial matters not a jot, it’s just your poor attempt at a diversionary tactic.
I’m more than happy for Starmer and Rayner to become sacrificial lambs if it means the end of Johnson.
In fact it’ll undoubtedly speed up the imminent second round of Downing St FPN’s and herald the imminent publishing of Gray: The Full Monty.
But thanks again for your continued paranoia ToraToraTora, it’s a source of great amusement to me.
“We shouldn’t all be dragged down by this cynical belief that all politicians are the same... We are not all the same. I am different.”

That's the key quote from Starmer's statement/gamble.
which is worse as shadow PM, Sir Beer Warmer of Angela Pain-in-the??

Corbyn for PM??????! Gully - not a hope.

You raise an interesting point I’d not thought of. Whatever happens, Labour wins. Either Durham will find there are no charges to answer, which’ll reveal beergate as the deflection it is, or Starmer will be issued with a FPN, resign and show Johnson what integrity looks like.

Beergate *could* turn out to be an own goal.
Witness ToraToraTora as he carries out his investigations into who DonkeyHoaty is.
It’s the equivalent of entering a nudist colony in order to inflict a wedgie onto one of the attendees.

Carry on Clouless.

I said exactly that days ago. The Johnson lickspittles fail to read what is adorned on the brickwork directly in front of them.
I forgot to mention, apparently I could be Retrocop too, if the recent thread about me is any indication?
So I’m 4 different users, returning in a new guise.
Surely ToraToraTora has better things to do than get fixated with someone on an Internet forum whom he’ll never physically meet?
Please assure me that he has?
As I said at 14.01 on Friday 6th of May on the Sir Beer Karma thread.

It could actually be a master stroke.
If he is found guilty and receives a FPN he may well feel obliged to resign. Rayner may have to as well.
That would put pressure on Johnson and Sunak to do the honourable thing, as so many have in government in the last 6 months.

As the BBC are currently reporting, Dominic Cummings broke lockdown rules when he entered the county of Durham.
The line of the local Constabulary was that they do not issue retrospective fines, which is also interesting.
The sooner we get all the Downing St FPN’s issued in conjunction with the unredacted Gray report the sooner this whole political mess can be remedied, surely?
16:31, have a day off, Boris is already the "bad" guy and he's not resigning. Rodders has dug himself a hole, now plod decides if he goes! What a perlonker!
"The line of the local Constabulary was that they do not issue retrospective fines, " - they do all the time, in fact every fine in history is retrospective. No one gets fined before they do something do they? Boris' fine was retrospective was it not?
DH: "It could actually be a master stroke." - what from the party that has existed for 122 years and been in power for 24 of them? Real genius! Right oh!

Read my post again, genius.
We are talking about Durham Constabulary, not the Met, just as currently being reported by the BBC. I did point that out, read it again, slowly if it helps.
