Yet again the UK is expected to struggle - if not actually be in last place - in the Eurovision Song Contest, regardless of the quality of our entry. This is apparently representative of a hatred of Britain by other countries. But why? Plenty of people from disadvantaged nations risk their lives to try and get into Britain. I can’t think of a more tolerant place on the planet. Unlike Russia, we are not in the least aggressive or tyrannical. The decision to leave the EU was one we were entitled to make, and other members came do the same if they wish. I could go on. But what in your opinion is behind anti-British feeling?
My feeling is that you are making it up
Egypt is not anti-British - they look back on dear old Blighty as a benign operation considering the corruption that came next
( Nasser's cronies, not Nasser)
Ukraine clearly isnt
isnt it more useful to discuss whether Turkey veto of NATO membership of Finland and Sweden will get up and run
As already observed:
The UK is second favourite to win.
Once more the yearly reminder that we can indulge in moaning and self-pity like the best of them (a bit, dare I say it, like Russia, although with no cause)
Hate is a bit strong, Blip, but have you thought it’s your history that hasn’t made Britain loveable?
As for the most tolerant? I guess you’re being tongue in cheek. :-)
envy, they envy our history our culture what we gave the world, they seethe with humiliation over their own sad histories and long to be us. That's why.
"Countries" can't hate - only people can hate & don't think most people of other countries hate Britain. (Well, maybe the French cos we beat them up a lot historically!)

Not applicable to Spain. Britain is certainly not hated here, I am English, have lived here for over 40 years and have never ever, ever , experienced one Spanish person hating GB. Plenty culture and history here too.
