People with power often find that part of exercising that power is giving other people less power over their lives.

The final choice to carry a pregnancy to term or not is the choice of the mother, and no-one else.
Interference by anyone else is immoral, and that immorality increases on an upwards scale - the further away the connection of the inteferer from the woman, the more immoral their influence is.
If you are the father, or a close family member, then your views should be considered, leaving the final choice to the woman concerned.
If you are a state legislator, you have no business whatsoever in playing God with complete strangers just because the state gives you the power to do so.
The giving, and exercise of such power, are a deep stain on modern society.
