You would think that the British government have got better things to sort, would you not? They are now considering going back to Pounds and ounces.
Have they no Idea or even considered what confusion it will create.
We've been educating kids for god knows how long in kilograms, most older people have got to grips with it or just learned to live with it, so now just throw a spanner in the works.
God knows how much it will cost all sorts of businesses to make changes, an expense most could do without.

The metric system was introduced in the UK 57 years ago. The current crop of 'oldies' weren't old when the change-or happened and have had over half a century to get familiar with the new system of weights.
Also - these proposals won't necessarily stop at greengrocers. The introduction of dual systems means that consumers will have difficulty in comparing prices (and hence value for money) when rival traders quote prices in different measures.
Also dual pricing (e.g. per kg and per lb) increases costs for manufacturers and causes unnecessary work for retailers – especially small shopkeepers and market traders who may have to change prices frequently by hand (or $125 million when you think of the Mars Climate Orbiter space probe!!!)
