I think that three categories would be a good idea. Male, female, and 'freestyle'. I don't think that trans should be forced out of competing in a sport they love or have ambition to compete in.
Lia Thomas can still compete, but unfortunately for him he'll have to compete against the men, where he was ranked something like 650th, rather than being ranked 1st when competing (cheating) against women.
Naomi; You seem always to look for the worst possible aspects of life. You seem to 'know' what everybody will think before anything is proposed or considered which might help reconcile different viewpoints. Negotiation, reconciliation, compromise - sensible ways to seek to improve human relations. Prejudging and refusing to consider options - sensible ways to guarantee eternal conflict and argument.
Naomi; But then rather than gloat over being proved right in your prediction of what the other side would say, you continue negotiation in the hope of arriving at a solution. If no-one gives an inch, then the world wil continue to be ruined by doctrinaires.
Naomi and Smowball; It's good to find some common ground. I'm not interested in gender definitions, just seeking some way we can all get along together in some way without being too doctrinaire.
Whilst I agree that trans .people should have their own groups I don't think it fair to stigmatise them. Through no fault of their own many of them go through life in turmoil .It's all because Mother Nature makes a mistake by giving the developing foetus the wrong amounts of hormones and babies end up having mismatched brains and genitalia and so become transgenders.
