09.26 "We were Stupid enough to vote leave"
It is not just you who is Stupid, Spicecrack.
a lot of people did the same , try not to worry about it
@09.40.Up here in Scotland mostly SNPers.Heidbanging eejits.
// The Observer will always take the negativity line //

Correct, really they should be writing positive articles about the top Brexit benefit the Minister of State for Brexit Opportunities chose to highlight this week...

https://www.indy100.com/politics/jacob-rees-mogg-brexit-benefits.
if Brexit was such a disaster, why have the labour party not embraced rejoining the EU? surely it must be an election landslide certainty?

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/jun/23/labour-unveil-plans-to-seek-limited-changes-to-brexit-deal
Those who voted to remain have long accepted the folly of the result while leavers are strident in their defence of the unfolding dramas.

Their equivalent of whistling in the dark I suppose.

@10.16.I see Arthur Scargill was a militant Brexiteer.Corbyn also.Tony Benn hated the EU with a vengeance.I take it Canary is a bit of a right-winger?
Those here who voted to remain rarely *say* anything much. Their argument appears, in the main, to be confined to telling leavers how stupid they are…. which is no argument at all.
No matter how bad things are for the UK as a direct result of Brexit, and the irrefutable proof of the damage – Brexiteers will forever refuse to accept it, as demonstrated by their posts on this thread.
I was busy saving my pounds, shillings and pence, ready for the day I could pop the three furlongs to my local greengrocer's and buy some mis-shaped carrots.

Then I realised ... that shop closed last century.
Oh no ... there's two of em.
I voted to remain but I live and work in this country and would dearly love to see some benefits from it. Preferably without having to take a trip to the Dartford tunnel to see the new signs.
Archibaldy, I have previously posted the main Brexit benefits on this site, reproduced again here for you.

- Blue passports
- The Crown Mark on pub glasses
- Mobile phone companies able to make roaming charges
(when using your phone in mainland Europe)
- Killing our honey-bees with EU banned pesticides
- Not having to insure ride-on lawnmowers used on private land
Once signage within the Dartford Tunnel is space at imperial distances, this will be added to the list.
Couldn't agree more, Hymie.
^^^^ more tosh from the 5C, if you hate it so much here Hymie I'm sure they'll take you in if you apply for asylum in the EUSSR.
// Once signage within the Dartford Tunnel is space at imperial distances //

not sure what you're getting at? on a British road, distances have never been expressed any other way than in imperial measurements?
from hoppy's link:
// "But official data last week showed, in the words of the Office for National Statistics, that UK exports of goods to the EU “increased for the third consecutive month in April 2022 and are at the highest levels since records began”.

As I said, the combination of implementation delays and the pandemic means, even six years on, it’s far too early to judge the impact of Brexit on the UK economy. The dislocation of war in Ukraine – which hits an energy importer like the UK far harder than energy exporters like the US – further complicates that assessment.

None of that stops the usual suspects from considering it axiomatic that the UK economy will always perform far worse outside the EU than had we remained a “member of the club”.//
11.22 Think it's you who needs to apply for Asylum TTT
Preferably the Lunatic type , think they are called
Mental Health Hospitals in the UK now . There must be one near to where you live, that will take pity and admit you. You will have no problem passing the Qualification test, I promise you..... Good Luck.
