I think it's looking like curtains for the PM, so who do you think the Tories will go for?

YMB, How can that be fair? How can the past few years possibly be compared to any other period of government that jno may have experienced in this country? It's unprecedented.

Ben Wallace

I hope it doesn't come to that but if it does I think that in retrospect we'll realise it's a mistake.
last night Coral were making Penny Mordaunt favourite. One Tory liar to replace another.
Tom Tugendhat
I quite like Ben Wallace but he's a remoaner and that means he'll let the EUSSR walk all over us.
a shame Rory Stewart isn't still around, one of the rare Tories I would vote for myself
Personally I'd go for Penny Mordaunt.
jno can you give us an example of a lie from Penny Mordaunt.
Must admit I’m looking forward to PMQ’s.
How much false and sycophantic cheering will there be as Johnson enters the chamber?

It’ll be like watching a cattle truck careering headlong into an already well-established motorway pile-up.
In 2016 Penny Mordaunt said Turkey would join the EU in a few years (it hasn’t) and that the UK was powerless to prevent them joining (we had a veto).

Obviously you will not agree that this was a downright lie :-)
In fairness, it wasn't a lie. A lot of people were expecting Turkey to join the EU. There were loads of discussions on here about it. AOG, in one of his threads on the subject, posted this link.

"In 2016 Penny Mordaunt said Turkey would join the EU in a few years (it hasn’t) and that the UK was powerless to prevent them joining (we had a veto). " - an opinion in fact 2 opinions, next!
that the UK was powerless to stop Turkey was not an opinion, it was a statement of fact that was not factual. The UK always had the power to stop Turkey joining, as did (and does) every other individual member state.
jno: "that the UK was powerless to stop Turkey was not an opinion, it was a statement of fact that was not factual. The UK always had the power to stop Turkey joining, as did (and does) every other individual member state. " - yes we could veto it but when the EUSSR doesn't get its own way it changes the rules, she was alluding to that. Next!

And you haven’t. She told Marr we did not have a veto, when we did have one. It wasn’t an opinion, it was categorically untrue.
Innevitably, at some point the EUSSR will remove VETO power.
yes we could veto it

just so
