Sir Lindsey is certainly a no-nonsense Speaker, as northerners tend to be.
He reminds me of Betty Boothroyd who similarly stood no nonsense from the floor of the House, and both were and are examples of how the job should be done, as opposed to the whining Michael Martin and the joke that was John Bercow.
