11 of them are Conservative, only 2 real Labour and 2 new Labour. Does anyone seriously think that real Labour can ever win a general election again?

Oh, so it's the Tories to blame for all the problems then.
this is an unhappy cross between Groundhog day and
"the time of Five Brexit threads"

"the time of Five Brexit threads" is chinee it is, like "the rule of the Three Emperors" - ah so and Borith is Chief Imperial Mandareen

historically you have to be castrated to be one of them
( mandareen)

10:26, don't remember ever posting this stat before.
If by 'real Labour', you mean the left-wing politics espoused by Jeremy Corbyn, then the answer, as history shows, is clearly no.

What Mr Corbyn has failed to grasp, because he likes to live in a fantasy world of clog-shod, cap-tipping, downtrodden working class oiks, is that what may have constituted the hard core of Labour voters in the past, no longer actually exists.

The 'working man' is now seriously aspirational, and astute enough to vote for the party that is going to better his lifestyle with higher wages and lower taxes.

A party that realistically offer that, is going to win any election for the foreseeable future, but it needs a leader with sufficient charisma and personality to make the voters believe it.

Given the current crop from any party, that's going to be a struggle for a while yet, and we may continue to mirror American politics where, rather than voting for the candidate and party we like the most, we will vote for the one we dislike the least.
Lol, have a day off.

Is the next one going to lie through their teeth to her as well?
That's a remarkable statistic, its amazing how little the Labour party have been in power.
the statistic don't necessarily show how long each party as been in power, it also shows how often they change there leader while in power. Some like Wilson and Blair lasted a long time
//Some like Wilson and Blair lasted a long time//

Wilson, 6 yrs Bliar 10 and for some reason you forgot TGL - 10

Perhaps a better way of putting it is, out of 120 years, Labour has been in power for just over 30 of them

Exactly the same post verbatim that we hear from ToraToraTora regularly.
Who are you today? Lol.

bobinwales: "the statistic don't necessarily show how long each party as been in power, it also shows how often they change there leader while in power. Some like Wilson and Blair lasted a long time " - actually it does, Labour have been in power 23.9 years out of 122.48, 19.51%
