// In Kyiv, there is deep scepticism about Russia’s intentions but Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, said Ukraine was trusting in the UN and Turkey to police the agreement.

The aim of the deal is to secure the passage of grain and essential goods such as sunflower oil from three Ukrainian ports, including Odesa //

UN/Turkey your response please.
I am terribly sorry to hear that
I wondered how they could tell if Putin was truthing....

rather obvious he wasnt

Sink their fleet? Sadly not even that will work against SLCM and ALCM.

The thing is, there are no official sanctions agains the export of Russian grain. What is happening is they are unable to get commercial companies to take it. I can't see how this deal facilitates that. And if they are going to lob missiles at the ships in port then there is even less chance.
And if there is nothing in it for these ***, why would they play ball?
This deal is dead in the water already.

Erdogan won't forget this humiliation. Payback will be in Bayraktars :-)
Plan A was to demine various corridors
get the Ukrainians to know them and sale along them
clear floaters ( hmm)
not shell any of the ships

which I thought was a long ask, consdiering they are at each others throats.

oh legally bit - it is a war crime to make prisoners of war clear their sides mines
I guess they would claim that nothing was in transit yet. Utterly against the spirit of the agreement though. The Ukrainians do need to clear the Black Sea.
oh and get insurers to insure them hahaha simples
yeah foo ( sozza wrong fred)
the govts usually underwrite in these situations ( indemnify war damage)
clearly no one wants to go near Russian batteries
I would advocate NATO intervention to drive Russian forces from SE Ukraine and free up Odessa as a working port. If Putin feels lucky let him push the button.

Great plan.
I must admit I watched the news of the signing of the agreement with rather than more of a smidgeon of scepticism. I'm not surprised.
//than more of a//

Yikes! *More than a*
I’m not surprised either, Putin doesn’t do concessions of any kind
If you can't steal it , sink it, nobody seems to be able to read Putins tactics. Why? I can. :0)
Oh, sorry i thought it was a arms supply ship. :0)))))

2000 Russian troops are thought to be completely surrounded in Kherson and they’re asking for a green humanitarian corridor (!)
Ick,
Perhaps the UN and Turkey could police that ;-)

In all fairness, if it eases a potential famine then I’d not be against doing whatever to get Russia’s grain out too but only from their own ports of course.

As for Kherson: surrender or die …
I couldn't understand why Russia would make a deal like this in the first place.
cos they are duplicitous morons?
