But CCTV has flagged up a suspect...and with that in mind can those who claim it was a group who surrounded him and attacked him please explain where you got your information from?

He was not.
He was attacked (probably for his busker takings) 75 years from where he dropped. He travelled there on his scooter. If he was surrounded by youths they were probably coming to his aid, phoning the police and ambulance.

Would not need a knife to Rob an 87 year old man, he could have just grabbed them and there is nothing the old bloke could do. There must be more to this. My guess is a load of yobs surrounded him probably following him "dissing" them in some way. He probably told them to Go forth and one gutless inadequate knifed him. The others may well have tried to help after that though I doubt it as he was 75 yards away when he stopped.

The witness who saw him surrounded by youths was on Runneymead Gardens, 75 yards from were he was attacked. Rather than attacking him, he had flagged them down for help. He was busking for charity money.
The man seen fleeing is an adult not a kid.
