Liz Truss will undoubtedly win the leadership contest.
Tugendhat endorsed Truss. So very likely.

ichi; //Not a fan as you know, but he gets 100% backing from me for Ukraine.
He is a very good speaker and he's always found the right words - backed up by actions too of course.//
How then can you not give him your support? What does he have to do to impress you; walk on water, cure cancer ? It's never too late to change your mind you know. :0)

Um, well, I think it is you know khandro :-)
And in any case, my "support" like the opposition of Labour MPs was always irrelevant. His own people could not work with him any more, simple as that. He had a huge majority and immense good will (and immense bad will too from certain quarters too), but the key thing was he had the Tory party in the palm of his hand and he blew it
His own fault and no one else's.
But I'm not a Johnson hater. Naomi alluded to the sort of stuff that follows him around, and I never read the comments on twitter in posts like that because I know only too well what I will find.

Have to laugh at some of the answers in the comments section on the BBC page covering this story. This is the top rated:
A very statesman like gesture Boris has made on behalf of the British people in his surprise visit to Ukraine. I wonder if it wouldn't be asking too much if he could make a few surprise or otherwise visits to UK business meetings with energy bosses and others in an attempt to do at least something to try and ease the massive financial burden of his own people?
Another:
I have a great deal of sympathy for Ukraine.
I am however frankly embarrassed that the Lame Duck Liar has the cheek to go out there for a PR opportunity while his own population are facing a Cost of Living Crisis.
Stay home, do your job!
How much did the flight cost the Taxpayer Photo-op Boy?
Maybe won’t be missed as much as Naomi believes? Lol.

//Not blind devotion, fatticusinch, just plain common sense, something you - and they - clearly lack. What good will come of it for this government? It’s my guess, none.//
Well, we’ll park the first part because devotion to politicians who continually lie to the public and everyone around them doesn’t count as ‘common sense’, well, only in Naomiworld.
Part two we can at least concur on but again, you have to look inwardly at a PM who spaffed an 80 seat majority because of his actions and his alone.
He’s destroyed the Tory party and massively hampered their chances at the GE.
Quite an achievement in the space of 30 months.
