Because plainly the way to show unity in the face of tyranny is to question whether your allies, for all your differences, are essentially friend or foe.
Hopefully that was all part of the election campaign nonsense
Given her track record, I'm surprised she hasn't claimed what she said was misunderstood and that Macron is one of her heroes.
She was asked a stupid question, "Macron: friend or foe?", she gave a stupid answer, "The jury's out". If you're anyone important, but especially the Foreign Secretary, how can the jury be out on whether the leader of France is a friend or foe? She was just so desperate to be elected, she made a totally thick attempt to evade the question. And then "I'll judge him on his actions, not his words" - just compounding the error. He's been president of France since 2017 and she's been Foreign Secretary for the last year - how much longer does she want to wait before judging him on his actions?
// “For sure I say the British people — the nation that is the United Kingdom — is a friend, a strong and allied nation, whatever its leaders.

"And sometimes in spite of, and beyond, its leaders… or the little mistakes they make with campaign pot shots." //

Yep. That is how to lead. Not play to your xenophobe audience to pick up Tora’s vote.
Macron's comments were spot on.
Whether he should have made them is another matter.
//Not play to your xenophobe audience to pick up Tora’s vote.//

Get a life mate.
// She was just so desperate to be elected, she made a totally thick attempt to evade the question. //

Not that thick. Tora took the bait and she got his vote. And he is now posting how wonderful she is.

There was a chance of a change for the better. A change of tack, a new direction. Then they quickly eliminated all the candidates who could do that. And Truss is the result.
Well your bunch of lefties dont stand a chance so suck it up and keep chomping those sour grapes Gromit.

Go Liz!
Ymb,
She was on a hustings show, trying to win votes. She declined to say France is our ally despite being our Foreign Secretary for a year. She does not know?
Do you believe France is our enemy like Putin’s Russia?
France (Macron) is not an enemy but is not a friend either.
Ymb,
Boris was driving you to the edge of the cliff at breakneck speed. The concerned MPs have swapped the driver, but the new one is doing exactly the same. Instead of averting disaster, she is assuring it.

Gawd elp us Gromit, she hasn't even wiped her plates on the no 10 door mat yet and you have already evaluated her entire premiership! Give her a chance!

UK foreign policy.....
I am not evaluating her Premiership, I am commenting on her career thus far.
I doubt the Tories will even get a dead cat bounce out of changing their leader.

Whoop whoop, Liz meets the Queen 28 years after calling for the monarchy to be abolished. With her and BoJo at Balmoral today no wonder we had thunder and lightning over Scotland.
