That's how I read it, Jim, but you never know. She might rally.
Jim: would have thought that was blindingly obvious.
Paigntonian, if you're referring to the death of George V that I commented on, it's true.
I didn't mean to claim it was a particularly brilliant piece of insight, Paigntonian.

Let's see if it is correct or not. But how typical, if I may say so, that she made sure to hold on long enough to complete her official duties with Liz Truss.

Hey hey - - can I say.....
Harry Harry ( yeah) Your mother is ill ( oh is she?)
voice off - time for a few new dresses !
( cruel PP - o miser PP)

Oh can I say something else about her wayward and ungrateful children?

Balmoral latest - Prince Charles arrives: Queen worse
( palace servants forbidden to repeat: oh him, what does HE want?)

Beeb completely wrong-footed on this. wordless for half an hour or so
‘ she held on to shake hands with liz truss. ‘ . OMG .
Question Author
yeah Jim
there is a paper on how old people live until a landmark passes.
and I thought 'yeah how true how true'
"Harry Harry ( yeah) Your mother is ill ( oh is she?)"
she couldnt get much iller - she's been dead for 25 years
Why are there so many comments about her making a full recovery everywhere I look? Sad but at 96 it is highly unlikely in view of the amount of medical attention she is getting and the fact that the family have been summoned. She isn't going to go on forever.
Pedant: As another has said, you've got the wrong parent. Staggering really.
it's on the Beeb (website) now, PP. Bear in mind they have to be absolutely sure about anything like this (and to please a demanding public they all have to have their ties the right colour; there have been ructions before).
She is looking incredibly frail...she has been going in this direction for a good few months. There is no going back...I hope her remaining time is spent peacefully with family.

Some of the posts on here are unfeeling to put it mildly.
I agree, pasta. Horrible.

Yes readers Harry's gran - not muvva
I am sorry for that

No - yes - in mitigation I plead some spouses refer to their husbands by the dog's name
As others have said can the usual suspects please show a little human charity?
Question Author
I take no moral high ground ( altho I still like pontificating)

Archbishop of Canterbury - are they allowed to pray for people? (intercessonary prayer, I thought only my lot did that)

at 96 I can hardly hope for "may she live for ever"
Unfeeling posts? I don't see any. What I would say is I doubt the goings on in Downing street over the last 2 years have done her health much good.
Question Author
Paignton, I have burdened my favourite saints

just about everyone is saying she looked pretty terrible with Lizz Truss. When George VI waved off Princess E 1952 - viewers gasped at how ill he looked.
I don't think this is the time for stupid jokes or frivolous remarks . No matter what you think of the Monarchy try to show some respect at least.
Andres: Precisely. We can only hope people like Pedant can behave in an adult and compassionate way.
