On a trip to the US a few years ago we met with someone who insisted in plying my late husband with lots of beer! He told us that he'd been in London on 11h September 2001 and the following morning he, and a lot of other Americans who were feeling lost, drifted down to the Palace and they were so touched when at the Changing of the Guard they played the Star Spangled Banner, it gave them a focus. He said he always then bought copious beer for Britons in the US! Sometimes small gestures do great things.
I don’t want to hijack this thread in the direction of Ukraine but they played Ukraine’s Eurovision winner a few months back! Not easy I’d have thought.

Meanwhile there are apparently only three countries not invited to the funeral: Russia, Belarus and Myanmar.
Tho it isn’t clear if N Korea and Iran will send anyone.
