At least he sounds confident.
It doesn’t help Liz Truss that she can hardly string two sentences together convincingly even when she’s on comparatively firm ground. (Contrast with Boris J who’d have spun it as a triumph for Britain). That is probably not going to change and Tory MPs will be thinking ahead to a general election, remembering Theresa May, and thinking “OMG!”

“SKS is a weak leader”
Well, that’s an interesting idea but under his leadership his party have put the Corbynites to flight, kicked Corbyn himself out of Parliamentary party, come down hard on anti semitism, reshaped the party image and policies and generally are feeling good about things for the first time in years.
Even Angela Rayner beams at him now.
So not sure that is fair or accurate.

It is a bit early, but Truss is looking like an awful Prime Minister. Johnson was very bad, policy and morally wise, but Truss is in a new league of wilful intransigence. All ideology and no listening to anyone else, no matter how much better expertise they have than her. It is a recipe for disaster, and things aren’t looking good.
Starmer doesn’t have to be good. He just has to be not Liz Truss and he will be better.

It’s the massive tax cuts with no demonstrable evidence of how it’s going be paid for which has sent the financial world into a spin.
They’ll either have to retract or bring forward the budget proper to try to address that.
But the damage it’s done to the Tories reputation, such as it still is, for economic competence, may be irreparable.
The suspicion is they’re gambling people’s money on vague visions of growth while rewarding richer people with the tax handouts that’ll lead there.
It feels not just like ideological recklessness but the arrogance of a party that’s been in power too long and thinks the opposition is a pushover.
So it can do as it pleases.
Tbat reminds me of someone else a bit :-)

//no chance, the fact is this government needed to do something and have, i can't see the Tories being out of office any day soon, much less 2024. SKS is a weak leader and quite frankly i can't see anyone in the Labour party who could take over.//
As ever I have to ask:
Weak in comparison to whom?
As for the Tories out of office any day soon, are you currently aware of the polls in conjunction with the crises facing the country?
This is a government with zero credibility, have reached rock bottom and have started to dig.
Yet you deem them still more competent than any alternative? Seriously??

//in other words explain what their fiscal policies are that will get us back on track, that is if you can.//
Like Kwarteng did, whilst keeping the OBR reports hidden?
Look how that turned out!
I do often wonder which parallel universe some live in because they appear to have absolutely no grasp or concept of what’s actually going on around them?
