Ah, the propensity to remain in thick mode it is then.

You, Gromit or both of you?
The pound - she rises!
One of the problems with this site now is the small but annoying little group of men with too much time on their hands. Unable to put over an opposing point with a little bit of intelligence or with some interest.

The problem with this site is idiot chicken licken lunatics that try and pretend that the UK is the only place the sky is falling.

I could post thread after thread about how bad it is in EU countries but that just wouldn't give me the satisfaction that the self flagellating fools get slating the UK.
And that post just proves my point, Roy.
Nothing to do with UK and EU comparisons, as you know, nobody has mentioned the EU in their posts.
It’s about the ineptitude of the government in tackling the problems, or did you fail to read the responses on the thread?
So as asked earlier and others have pointed out, who exactly are the ‘ Britain Bashers’, unless of course you’re including Truss?
The sad part is that roy thinks that avoiding a recession by 0.3% is worthy of a troll post.
It was nice that he pulled his head out from the sand to further his humiliation.
I fear it will be a long 20 months to the next election for some ABers.
Meanwhile the omnicrisis gets worse by the day.
Indeed Gromit, continues unabated, sadly.
I guess the British Chamber of Commerce are just as bonkers.

https://www.britishchambers.org.uk/news/2022/09/bcc-economic-forecast-new-pm-must-act-as-uk-economy-set-for-recession-before-year-end

The BCC expects the UK economy to plunge into recession before the end of 2022, with inflation spiking to 14% and lingering weakness in growth expected to continue into 2024

/UK Economic Outlook – 2022

The British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) has again downgraded its expectations for UK GDP growth for 2022 to 3.3% (from 3.5% in Q2) against a deteriorating economic outlook.
UK inflation is now expected to reach 14% in Q4 2022, an upwards revision of four percentage-points from its previous projection of 10%.
The BCC is now forecasting a recession for the UK economy this year, with negative economic growth for Q2, Q3, and Q4 2022/

Grim reading.

Gromit, there would have been about eleventeen threads on the subject had we been officially declared to be in a recession but you think there shouldn't be one because we didn't enter a recession?

You couldn't just accept the 'fact' that analyst were wrong and we had avoided recession, you had to post some guff didn't you.
Growth of 0.2% is dismal. Pathetic. Certainly not anything to crow about.
If you are clutching at this as a victory, then you are not going to like the near future. It is only going to be bleak.
You probably need to change the word ‘avoided’ in your post to ‘postponed’.
We’ve already been in recession this year anyway.

/Britain’s economy is now in recession, the Bank of England has said, as it raised interest rates to tackle the worst bout of inflation for 40 years./

Or do you claim differently?

Get me a link from the BOE saying that we are in recession...or stop posting links.

I warned you about using links from the Guardian in your last incarnation.
