Lol, Dave.
I think the wheels will be coming off the fantastic Irish healthcare system story shortly.
//So if being in the EU improves health care & it's so much better over there than the NHS how come the UK didn't reap the same benefits during the 40 years we were a member?//

You kept voting in Tory governments.

That's not really true, is it, thechair.
At least people can still access free healthcare in this awful country, Chair. I'm guessing you support that?
"Italy have just swatted the Scots aside at rugby, douglas..."

As mentioned in my 20:02, jno, plain as day.
Maybe health care is better in the EU cos those who can't afford to pay come to the UK for free treatment? (not NHS but WORLD HS)

//Wrong thread fatticus.
You spend ages researching all this, assume you have all the time in the world ...no work to do etc... and typing it but ignore the question and just repeat your own agenda//

Let’s hear your answer to the OP then, genius?
Fatti has an agenda! Surely not.
Many things mentioned here are related to individual countries rather than the EU as a whole. Of course countries that are net benefiters will gain from membership. However here in the UK we, after Germany were paying.

The underlying problems we are suffering are world wide caused by COVID and the war in the main, instead of bickering we should all pull together and build our economies.
Youngmafbog,

Absolutely! We’ll be prosperous beyond our wildest dreams once the pre and post-Brexit promised trade deals kick in, won’t we?
"Glad you and Dave had such a good experience using the Irish healthcare system, Gness.
Did you and/or Dave, perchance, access it using your NHS Number. "

Spicerack - why would we do that? We are fully resident in Ireland and get exactly the same healthcare as any other permanent resident - so your implication that in some way we are getting the NHS to support us whilst living here is both unpleasant and wrong.

We also both have Irish EHICs, so you won't be paying if we should ever need healthcare anywhere else in Europe. OK?
Your country needs no such leadership, Naomi?....Well, sad though we both feel about the UK just now, that's given us a good laugh unless things have changed overnight. :-))

Though you could be quite happy with the present leadership I suppose.
gness, We certainly don't need EU regulations to abolish archaic laws that are detrimental to women as you clearly did - so not too bad really. ;o)
No - you're just content that the EU isn't there to stop you allowing your rivers to become sewers ...
You're happy with not too bad, Naomi?
SD/Gness, I read that of you attend A&E without being referred by a GP, there is a charge of 100 Euros. Is that right? That doesn't sound to great to me but this seems to confirm it.

I'm reasonably happy, gness - thank you for asking.
Perhaps if we charged a £100 for turning up at A&E without a referral then they would not be over run and on the brink of collapse!
Pardon?
sigh
