Truss says: 'I'm a fighter, not a quitter'. Quoting Richard Nixon, on the eve of his resignation, is very odd though I suspect she, and her speechwriters, are very unlikely to see the irony.
“As the PM finishes her exchange with Keir Starmer, telling MPs she’s a “fighter not a quitter”, one Tory backbencher turns to their neighbour and says simply “useless”. Colleague nods.”
I personally thought that she did enough to survive, for the time being at least. Then again, I don't get the line of attack that runs to the effect of, "What have the Opposition, who haven't been in Government for over a decade, done about it?" Well, obviously nothing, because they aren't the Government.
She seems to be fixated on the unions. I have a suspicion that if she were asked what the time was, she would reply that she was going to get the trains running.
