Liz Truss Police Protection
As I understand it, convention dictates that prime ministers are given 24 hours, 7 days protection by the police for the rest of their lives after they leave office.
I'm scratching my head to understand why this should apply to Liz Truss. As far as I can see, her planned policies have taken a u- turn and her opinions have been rubbished by her colleagues and the public, so why should the taxpayer pay vast sums over many years to protect an ineffective prime minister.

They have no choice about the police protection, some former prime ministers hated it, believing they had no privacy.
As for the £115k expenses allowances, you can bet your bottom dollar they take it up: "In 2020/21, which is the most recent year we have accounts for, Sir John Major, Tony Blair, Gordon Brown and David Cameron all claimed more than £110,000, while Theresa May claimed about £58,000."
