The unions, the ultimate 5C. How much is Mick Lynch on? The train drivers are already on at least 60k. Pure greed from the communists.

Lynch is earning every penny
Greed is the Tory Party's driving force, you can't blame the lower classes for adopting it.

ah, as expected the two 5C in chief back the commies ! well I'll go to the foot of our stairs. So £60k not enough then? Funny the other week you were having a go at the "rich"!
unions are not the enemy in my opinion... the weakness of trade unions is one of the reasons this country has such low wage growth in comparison to other countries
could you please explin what you consider a fifth column to be and why you consider people who support trade unions to be part of if
the rmt is not striking over pay alone by the way
Yes the RMT don't like management interfering in the running of the company

My first ever proper job I worked in a local authority, great job loved it, excellent training etc. Anyway one day the union rep pulled me in to his office and said that I hadn't had enough time off sick. I said well I haven't actually been sick, he said if I didn't take my allotted 13 days a year then they'd look at the rest of them. I said "soo you want me to pretend to be sick?" He said yes in so many words and also tried to get me to join the union, never been in a union never will be, that's why I hate unions.. what a shower.
TTT, what fantasy world do you exist in where all managers, bosses etc are such paragons of virtue that employees don't ever need representation?
Question Author
Unions may have served a purpose 100 years ago but now they exist only to force mediocrity on society.

TTT - Please stop swearing and stop referring to other contributors as 5th Columnists.
Please accept this as your first and final warning on that.
Unions claim to act for the working man though I often wonder what their true intentions are. By definition they are Labor supporters but I often wonder if their true intentions are to help their members or add to the oppositional weight of the Labor party.

"unions are not the enemy in my opinion... the weakness of trade unions is one of the reasons this country has such low wage growth in comparison to other countries " - but if you are any good at your job then you get one with more dosh, no? Why should business pay any more than they have to?
TTT,

Everything is determined through your personal experience, eh? That's an extremely narrow outlook, surely. Mind you, I doubt you really believe all the carp you post anyway.
"but if you are any good at your job then you get one with more dosh, no? Why should business pay any more than they have to?"

it's not always that simple unfortunately.

"Why should business pay any more than they have to?"

because if you expect people to create value for your business then you should pay them properly and ensure that their working conditions are safe.
Yes, anyone can just leave the job they are in and go a get a better one when ever it suits....
Yes, go and live in the real world, TTT.
i would be very interested to know what toratoratora thinks the consequences would be if all the RMT workers who plan to strike simply left their jobs instead
