...serving Putin's aims. Are they 'useful idiots '?
That's what the Tory party chairman, Nadhim Zahawi, might be thinking with his talk of the strikes in prospect helping Putin.
Sounds more than a bit rum to me.

I dont know about Putin, but up here in Scotland the SNP heid-the-bas would prefer to spend millions on a sham referendum than spend it on the Scottish NHS.
Hope you don't mind me asking how you are now Sandy?
all pawns in the hands of Moscow ... I haven't heard rhetoric like that since the 1960s; it sure brings back memories of the cold war.

It's a stupid thing to say. I think Nadim Zahawi's salary and expenses claims are helping Putin, and should be examined with that in mind.
TBH, unless we are being misinformed, they already have a decent wage scale, especially for caring type roles. As for who it benefits, no doubt there are many beneficiaries; but that is only of secondary importance.
He may be thinking more of the railways led by Red Robbo aka Mick Lynch
why would he say nurses if he meant railway workers? Surely even a politician can tell the difference?

///Zahawi told broadcasters that nurses should call off their strikes and abandon their pay demands because it risked playing into the hands of the Russian president, who he said wanted to fuel inflation in the west.
He called on unions representing nurses and other medical workers to enter into talks – though the Royal College of Nurses (RCN) pointed out that it was government ministers who were refusing to open any negotiations over the NHS pay deal. ///
Completely off course Sandy. Well done, great news . X
Nadhim Zahawi is a multi millionaire ex-oil exec.
He has nil knowledge/experience/empathy of working for a low wage doing uncivilised shifts.
London is still awash with £zillions of Russian money despite sanctions, and Zahawi is quite happy to feather Putin’s bed.
