Other than that, a very good question which highlights, yet again, the evil nature of a government which spent around £400bn of taxpayers' money, paying people to sit at home munching Hobnobs for the best part of two years.

Inspite of the winter fuel allowance, energy discounts, council tax reduction and £10 Xmas bonus, many state pensioners will face an uphill financial struggle.
Perhaps one way of combating the problem of keeping warm, would be to gather several state pensioners (with their consent), placing them under one household throughout the winter period?
Since many of the elderly complain of being alone, it would also promote much needed companionship.
Also food bills would work out cheaper. Since a jumbo size box of wheatybangs breakfast cereal, gives you more bang for your buck.

NJ @ 08.43 "They are not given it by the government but by the people who pay tax and NI." ...Do you mean the same people who gave Baroness Mone £29m And her Cronies PPE Med £203m , for useless PPE equipment And the same people who gave Matt Hancock's former neighbour £40m for useless PPE, equipment. And the same tax payers who are paying for MPs staff Christmas parties .
And you are trying to justify This rag tag mob of a Tory Govt Paying state pensioners a measly £10 Xmas bonus. Shame on you.

I am referring to those state pensioners who live alone in council and private housing.
The very same people I meet that come into the ageUK daycentres. They have real concerns about the cost of living crisis and equally important, the abject feeling of loneliness!
